Inspired By..... basket

Hello crafty friends!

Back today with another Inspired By challenge :)

I was inspired by the basket, yellow elements, pillow pattern, and the pop of gold.

For the focal point of my card, I used dies and stamps from The Stamp Market (basket and tulips).
Love how bright and cheery those tulips are!!

Cheerio!

Cheerio!

It's Inspired By day!! This week we are being inspired by London!

Inspired by... London #IB274

A little preface before I share my card.....

If you know my crafting style, you know I really enjoy taking somewhat 'literal' interpretations of photo prompts/inspirations. So of course to me that would mean stamping/using a red British telephone box or even some sort of window....
Ha! Easier said that done... even with, what, 20+ years of 'accumulated' supplies I have
• ZERO travel products
• ZERO window-ish products ?!?!

So that leads to this card and a little 'peek' inside my brain and the creative process as to why I chose the elements I did :)

When I saw the inspiration photo, I knew I wanted to replicate the brick of the building (yay, I could do that with a brick stencil and grit paste!!), and the 'lines' I saw in the corner of the building architecture (which were achieved with black/white patterned paper).

As for a nod to the telephone box, red patterned paper and a die cut frame (inked black) to the rescue!

The branch idea was pulled from the upper right corner of the inspiration photo.

I chose to die cut the birds and crown in gold glitter cardstock, as a nod to 'royalty' :)
And of course the sentiment seemed fitting to a London theme....

Aren't you glad you don't live inside my brain?! Waaayyyyy too literal/detail-oriented!!! LOL
But alas, that's where I find my creative joy! :)

I hope you will check out the Inspired By Challenges blog for this week's challenge and check out the rest of the design team's amazing creations and feel inspired to play along!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by, appreciate you!!

I die cut the flower parts from white cardstock and gave them color by ink blending with distress oxide inks using the challenge color hues (blush, dusty blue, pink). The card background panel was inspired by the dark shadows in the photo prompt.

Miss You

Today I'm sharing another entry for Pinkfresh Studio January challenge.

Really enjoyed the creative process with this one!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Inspired By Blue

Back with another Inspired By challenge card, this time inspired by ... Blue!

Inspired By... Blue #IB272

I immediately fell in love with bright, bold blue in the inspiration photo, and the pattern screamed 'stencil' to me, so stencil I did...

I used Pinkfresh Studio Kaliedoscope stencils and two shades of Pinkfresh blue inks to create the pattern on the bottom of the card. The top of the card was ink blended in a light blue.

Another fun element inspired by the photo prompt was the background heart... I ink blended a panel in that yummy blue then die cut with narrow strip dies and adhered the strips to a die cut heart as a nod to the slats on the shutters :)

This was such a fun creative process!! Love Inspired By challenges :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Beyond Happy for You

 Hey there!

Excited to share a new card that was inspired by several awesome challenges:

Pinkfresh Studio January 2024 challenge: I chose April / Flowers challenge

The Daring Cardmakers challenge: Just Peachy

Inkspirational challenge #307: Stencils

Time Out challenge #254: New

And here's my card...

I was excited to try out my new Pinkfresh Studio 'Nothing But the Best' stamp/layering stencils/die products, and have also been eager to make a card using Pantone's color of the year, Peach Fuzz.

I started by stamping the floral image in black, then ink blended using the layering stencils, choosing to ink blend the flowers in monochromatic peach fuzz with limoncello centers, and thought the mint/meadow/emerald city color blend would complement the peach flowers.

I die cut the diagonal stitched circle and very lightly ink blended the background in peach fuzz, then die cut a diagonal stitched circle frame and ink blended in peach fuzz.

I embossed an A2 panel with a woodgrain embossing plate then die cut using Pinkfresh simply diamonds die. I die cut another A2 panel with Pinkfresh hexagon tile coverplate and ink splattered it with dried marigold distress oxide ink.

I then adhered all of the card layers, adhered the floral image with foam tape, stamped and die cut the sentiment and adhered it with foam tape. I die cut a few additional pieces of Alex Syberia greenery and adhered to the card.

Lastly I embellished the flower centers with some flat sequins.

I really enjoyed the creative process with this card!! Supply List below...

I guess it's pretty obvious I was inspired by the mittens... lol.... but also the texture.

I used an old chipboard mitten to trace the mitten shape on an embossed piece of cardstock that I fussy cut then ink blended in grey distress oxide ink colors.

Another great Inspired By challenge!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

winter greetings

 hello hello!!

Playing along with the latest Inspired By challenge - Inspired by - Snowman

I was inspired by the blue and the snowflake pattern on the jacket, and took a loose interpretation of the sketch.

Totally stepped outside of my comfort zone with this card, as I typically don't gravitate toward bold colored cards.... so I challenged myself with some distress oxide ink blending in an attempt to create a wintery sky.
The snowflakes were created with opaque grit paste and layering stencils.
I really enjoyed the ink blending here, I'm going to have to try this more often :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Let It Snow - Inspired By challenge

Greetings!!!

Today I am sharing a card created for the latest Inspired By challenge

I was inspired by the sketch and the colors when designing my card....

I was inspired by the colors in the inspiration photo when ink blending my unconventional snowflake, aiming for a vintage vibe. I used Ranger distress oxide inks (old paper, pumice stone) and Pinkfresh Studio (warm buff) ink. I added some Ranger mercury glass stickles and Pinkfresh champagne glitter drops for sparkle.
The ink blended snowflake was matted with a vellum die cut snowflake for added dimension/interest before being adhered to the die cut black circle with foam tape.
The background panel was die cut with Pinkfresh Studio snowflakes coverplate die.
The sentiment was embossed in white on black cardstock, and matted with vellum before being adhered to the card.

Fun challenge!! Check it out and play along!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

wonderful things will happen - Altenew May Inspiration Challenge

hey crafty friends!

Here today with my take on Altenew's May Inspiration Challenge hosted by the amazing Jaycee Gaspar

After rummaging through my Altenew supplies, and then realizing I had no lily stamps in my arsenal (note to self: buy lily stamps ... why don't you own any lily stamps, you love lilies?!)

So, no lilies, but I thought some of my new Altenew products would give me the look I wanted for this card.

I started with Altenew's Happy Hummingbird 3D embossing folder then used Altenew's Sweet Honeysuckles simple coloring stencils to ink blend the embossed image.
I then fussy cut the image and adhered it within a Pink Fresh Studio die cut circle, then adhered it to a Spellbinders embossed panel, which I had splattered with some Altenew inks.

The sentiment is from Altenew's new Dynamic Duo: Luscious Flora sentiment, which I heat embossed in white embossing powder.  Interesting note -  I did not have the correct size tag, so I die cut a tag from Altenew's Terrific Tags set and just cut it down to the size I needed.

This was a fun challenge, thanks Altenew for the inspiration!!

Supply List:
Altenew Sweet Honeysuckles simple coloring stencil
Altenew Happy Hummingbird 3D embossing folder
Altenew Dynamic Duo: Luscious Flora sentiment
Altenew dies: Cross stitch canvas, Terrific Tags
Altenew Inks: limeaid, lime, fresh leaf, forest glades, shadow creek, soft lilac, lavender fields, wisteria, hydrangea, deep iris, ultraviolet, snapdragon, jet black
Altenew enamel dots - shades of purple
Pink Fresh Studio diagonal stitched circles
Spellbinders diamond plaid embossing folder
Brutus Monroe alabaster white embossing powder
Other: black/white twine; cardstock: black, white; foam tape

I also posted this on my Instagram, feel free to give me a follow, as I post most of my creations there - Instagram: raekryc

March Pinkfresh Studio challenge

 hello hello!

Here today to share a card that I made for the March Pinkfresh Studio challenge

I decided to go with the 'layers' theme of the challenge, and here is my card:

I suppose the colors also 'sort of' follow along with the challenge, but I did not use the suggested colors and mine are definitely bolder!

I used layer upon layer of Pinkfresh Studio goodies here, many from their February release, that I just couldn't resist making mine :)

Pinkfresh Studio supplies:

Art Deco frame die
Sparkling Diamonds cover plate
Around the Shape: Circles stamps
Nesting circles dies
Happy for You stamps/stencils/die
Metallic gold pearls
Pinkfresh inks: sparkling rose, bubble gum, raspberry bliss, sweet mustard, apricot, ocean breeze, aquamarine, mermaid cove, tidal pond

This was a fun one to create!! I just love how the Art Deco frame gives the impression of many layers but it is just one piece! And I know that I am going to be turning to the Happy for You stamps/stencils over and over again, such a great set!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

good things will find you

Hello hello!

Playing along with the latest challenge at As You See It Challenge #293 | pinks & pearls

And here is my card.....

I used Pinkfresh Studio’s Wonderful in Every way stamp/stencil/die and some of my favorite pink Altenew inks (Pink Diamond and Rubellite) to create the floral focal point.

Challenge requirements met by:

Embossing: I used Spellbinders diamond plaid embossing folder

Pearls: I added some mango colored pearls to the flower center

Blossoms: I just LOVE this new Pinkfresh flower stamp set and find I turn to it often :)

Shades of Pink: I created different shades of the two pink inks through ink blending - shaded some areas lighter and some darker using the same color and then ink blended the two pinks to alter the pink shades even more.

Distressed Paper: I dug out my very, very old Heidi Swapp paper distressing tool to distress the edges of the paper panel

This was a great challenge, LOVED it!! :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

color throwdown 729

Playing along with the latest challenge over at The Color Throwdown | CTD 729

Here is my take on the color challenge:

I was inspired by the flowers and colors in the inspiration prompt so I turned to my new Altenew Statement Flowers stamp and did some ink blending in reds and pinks. For the gold color, I heat embossed the sentiment in gold and also used an embossing pen to emboss the flower center in gold, and then added some gold pearl accents as well.

Supply List:
Pink Fresh: Sparkling Diamonds cover plate die
Pink Fresh: Scalloped rectangle die
Pink Fresh: Perfect Sentiments stamp and die
Pink Fresh: metallic pearls - matte gold
Altenew: Statement Flowers stamp
Distress Oxide Inks: spun sugar, kitsch flamingo, festive berries, candied apple
Brutus Monroe: gilded embossing powder
Other: white cardstock, foam tape

Thanks for stopping by!

I was intrigued by this color combination, so I pulled together some inks and went to work, and this is what I came up with...

Pink Fresh: nested hexagon dies; stitched scallop rectangles
Hero Arts: nested hearts dies
Simon Says Stamp: etched linear heart die

Real Growth

 hello hello!

Here today to share a card that I absolutely LOVED creating...

I played along with Pink Fresh Studio's January 2023 Challenge | Year in Review

.... which meant that I had a year's worth of challenges to choose from, so I chose June | Rainbow

I was excited about the 'rainbow' prompt as I knew I wanted to do work with my new Pink Fresh Studio supplies that coincidentally arrived on my doorstep just yesterday :)
Lately I've been motivated to create CAS cards with meaningful and inspirational sentiments, and my new Pink Fresh Butterflies stamp/die/stencil set allowed me to do just that, take a peek...
|

I used gobs of Pink Fresh goodies on this card... layer upon layer of yummy die cuts. Although I added texture for interest, my goal was to keep the layered card base crisp, clean and all white so that the bold rainbow color ink blended butterfly would pop off the card. I added black for a strong bold contrast as well.
I did not use all of the stencils in the Butterfly set, choosing to just use the larger stencils and freely ink blending the colors in a rainbow color theme. The butterfly and sentiment strip were adhered to the card with foam tape for dimension.
The card layout came courtesy of the latest sketch at Freshly Made Sketches | FMS 569
I cannot tell you how much I truly enjoyed working on this challenge card, and look forward to making many more butterfly cards thanks to this great set!

Supply List:
Pink Fresh Studio Supplies:
Butterflies stamps/dies/stencils
Radiating Background die
Ornate Medallions coverplate
Fancy Oval frame
Inks: berrylicious, clementine, sweet mustard, grassy knoll, mermaid cove, regal kiss
Simon Says Stamp: stitched rectangles dies
Misc supplies: cardstock: white, black; Tsukineko onyx black ink; foam tape

Thank you for stopping by today, appreciate your visit!

miss you

Hello! Back with a new challenge card..

I played along with a challenge over at Color Hues - Challenge #52 Turquoise and Mustard

This was a fun one to tackle... here is my card:

I gave an ombre inking to the Pinkfresh Studio Ornate Medallion die cut panel with mustard seed Distress Oxide Ink. I stamped the Altenew flower vine set in black ink over a panel also inked with mustard seed Distress Oxide Ink for a tone on tone effect, fussy cut around the image and adhered it to the card base with foam tape for dimension. The Concord & 9th (Big on You set) sentiment was stamped with black ink over a panel blended with salvaged patina Distress Oxide Ink, die cut, and adhered to the card front with foam tape. Enamel dots in shades of turquoise were added to the floral panel.
Love the simplicity of this card and how that turquoise color jumps right off the mustard background.

Thanks for stopping by, appreciate it!
