love you Mom

Love the unique inspiration of this week’s Inspired By challenge gives us for Mother’s Day cards!

Inspired By - Mom Charcuterie

So basically, I was inspired by salami flowers and cupcakes.

Yep, my creative muse picked the flowers out of photo prompt and used them as inspiration :)
And also the sketch, the ‘Mom’ theme, and the collage-y nature of the charcuterie itself (inspired my use of floral patterned paper).

Kinda excited about the random product collage I made here 😊 Some new products, most just 'new to me' products. I really, really enjoyed putting this one together... I have always loved playing with gorgeous patterns and colors!

Patterned paper - Echo Park spring collections
Die cut flowers - Spellbinders Club Blooms dies / Echo Park spring cardstock
Stamp/Die - The Greetery - To Mom With Love (I fell in LOVE with this set as soon as I saw it!!)
Dies - Papertrey Ink (Love to Layer Charming Brackets); Pinkfresh Studio (notched corner frame dies)
Embellishments - The Stamp Market sequins

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

wonderful

Hello crafty friends!!

I am very excited to be back as a guest designer for the next AAA Cards challenge!!

The current challenge is a sketch challenge - AAA Cards Challenge 264

And here is my card.....

I have really enjoyed challenging myself with CAS cards! I tend to gravitate toward lots of layers and very little white space as my norm, so I am very grateful for AAA Cards challenges which encourage me to try something new!

For this card, I used The Greetery's jumbo curiosity nest die as my focal point. I die cut it from white cardstock and then went to town with distress oxide inks (another relatively new to me technique).
I was inspired by the sketch to add a swatch of watercolor to the card panel before adhering the nest. A bit of ink splatter in the same color added a subtle bit of extra interest.

Be sure to check out the rest of the designers' cards on the AAA Cards Challenge blog, hope you will be inspired to play along!!

Thank you so much AAA Cards Challenge for extending the opportunity to guest design, I greatly enjoyed the challenges and look forward to playing along with many additional challenges in the future!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
xoxo ~ Rae

thank you for just being you

Hello crafty friends!!
Guess what time it is?! You got it, time for another Inspired By challenge!!
This week we are being inspired by these adorable wellies!!

I was inspired by both the sketch and the photo prompt, specifically: the theme, the colors, and the patterns.

Speaking of patterns... I was in the mood for designing with my original card making love... patterned paper!!! :)
I started by (water)coloring the stamped image with distress oxide inks, then just ruffled through 10,501 pieces of patterned paper until I found some that coordinated with my watercolored image colors!! lol
Lots of layering, some inking for definition, jute twine bow, simple sentiment... lots of old school stuff going on here, felt great creating! :)

Be sure to check out the Inspired By blog and the rest of the design team's projects... hope you will be inspired to play along with us!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Freshly Made Sketches #632

Decided to play with some patterned papers this time :)

Bright, bold and fun colors and patterns… perfect for a birthday card!

Mom

I immediately fell in LOVE with the inspiration photo for the latest challenge at The Card Concept

Swoooon…. Love those gorgeous flowers!!!! The flowers and the colors inspired my card design…

I just love how this turned out!! I did lots of ink blending to get the flowers to resemble those in the inspiration photo.

Supply List:

Stamps/dies: The Stamp Market; Alex Syberia Designs

Ink: Distress Oxide Inks (tattered rose, worn lipstick, picked raspberry, shabby shutters, peeled paint, fossilized amber, scattered straw, tea dye, aged mahogany, salvaged patina, shaded lilac)

Cover plate die: Concord & 9th

Other: Dr. Ph. Martin black ink; very old brad

hello

hello!
Challenged myself to step outside of my ‘color comfort zone’ with the latest Color Throwdown challenge

I was inspired by the pattern of the pillows and the beautiful red of those chairs.

I cut a white panel on the diagonal, layered it over a navy panel, then topped that off with the lattice die cut panel. The flower, flower center and leaves were then stamped and die cut. I embossed the flower detail in gold and then stamped, embossed, and die cut the sentiment.
I’m so glad I challenged myself with this color combination!
Thanks so much for stopping by, appreciate it!!
